Eliphalet Steele (June 23, 1700 - July 1773) was a resident of West Hartford, Connecticut.
Steele was born on June 23, 1700 in West Hartford, Connecticut, as the son of Samuel Steele and Mercy Bradford. He grew up in the area and married in 1722, settling in the region.
Steele died in July 1773 in West Hartford, Connecticut. His wife, Catherine, took the Noah Webster house on South Main Street in West Hartford. Possessing a delicate constitution, "Mother Steele," as she was known in Noah's family, would lapse into psychosis in the last few years of her life.
